Located in Altoona, Iowa, this unique mini tunnel features a 55 foot conveyor inside a 65 foot building with equipment by AVW, a point of sale system by ICS, and chemical by Bullseye. Casey’s Altoona location opened on March 5, 2018 and is projected to wash 40,000 cars annually.
The building was an old Casey’s C-Store, and when the store and community got big enough, Casey’s built a new expanded store next to it. We utilized the old building to construct the car wash. We cut the entire floor out, cut doors on the ends of the building, and built a wall to separate the back room. This was a great use of an existing building – we were able to tie into the gas pumps next door and bring a dead property to life. The building was too big to use as an in-bay car wash, but almost too small for a traditional conveyor. Without the dual belt from AVW, we wouldn’t be able to use the entire building and wash as may cars. In their first year, they have already had days over 400 cars! This would not be possible with an in-bay automatic wash in a single building like this.
